Ecrion's Interview Part 1

A few moments after Zach and Arian left my abode. I heard a strange sound. At first, I merely assumed it was that pesky bird on my roof again, but to my surprise the knocking continued.

I grabbed Cha and Os and almost walked out the front door… Almost. I nearly slammed into her. I, have a habit of not looking down, after all.

“Hello Reaper.” Ecrion said.

“Ecrion? What’re you doing here?” I said.

“Come now Reaper. At least greet me properly before you start questioning.

Was that a jab? I thought.

“Hello, Ecrion.” I said.

Ecrion smiled. She wrapped her fingers behind her back and bowed.

“So now will you answer my question?” I said. “Why’re you here?”

Ecrion tilted her head to the side. “Wow, you really are conceited. Not even a how are you, how’ve you been? Not even an, I missed you Ecrion, it’s been awhile.”

I stared at her blank-faced. What do I say? I thought.

Ecrion sighed. “Well, if you must know, I’m here for my interview.”

Ecrion’s words chilled me to the bone. I looked at Ecrion from head to toe. “What do you mean? What is there to say?”

“Plenty.” Ecrion said.

I raised my eyebrows. “Like… what?”

“I don’t know. Isn’t that for you to decide?” Ecrion said.

“Like I said, I have nothing to say.” I said.

“Wow arrogance too.” Ecrion said. “You really are every girl’s dream aren’t you?”

“Look if you’re going to be sarcastic, why don’t you head on home? This is no place for you.” I said.

I walked inside and closed the door.

Ecrion knocked on the door. “Reaper.” She gasped. “Reaper, I swear to god if you don’t open this door. I’ll…”

“You’ll do what?” I said. “Scream? Go ahead. This is a swamp. There’s no one for miles. You might as well go back home like I said. The door’s locked so don’t bother trying to get…”

*Dink*

“Now she’s ringing the doorbell. Look at her. Mad.” I said.

“We don’t have a doorbell master.” Cha said.

I slowly opened the front door.

Ecrion was laying on the ground, out cold.

I looked at the front of my, newly dented door.

I kneeled down next to her. “Damn it. Don’t you know how much residual energy is contained within that door? You should be dead right now.”

She doesn’t reply.

I touch the top of her bleeding forehead.

I let out a breath of air from my lungs. “Guess I’d better set you by the fire…” I said.
