Clarissa Interview 1

1/31/2014

“Okay, I think we’re finally ready to do this.” I said, sweating.

“Yep,” Cha and Os said in unison.

“She’s ran away a lot.” I peeled the tape back from Clarissa’s lips. “How many times did you try to escape?”

Clarissa furrowed her golden eyebrows. “About 5 times. At least I think so.”

“Yeah, Chaos tends to cause a few memory issues.” I said. “Speaking of which, I almost forgot. Requerdis Scriptis.” (Record Script)

I sit down in the seat across from her, on the other side of the table. Candles half-light the area.

Dark R. Reaper: Much better. Scripted dialogue is much easier to understand.

Clarissa Jenova: I agree.

Dark R. Reaper: Very creative?

Clarissa: Very… (hints sarcasm)

Dark grabs the book and looks at the most recent page.

Dark: Hey, what did that last line say?

Clarissa: If I’m right, something about sarcasm?

I turn to look at Clarissa through the dim lighting.

Dark: I see. Very clever, you.

Clarissa: That’ll teach you to hit a lady.

Dark: Okay, for the record, I, never hit you. Cha and Os send out a concussion signal to the brain when you’re tapped on the head.

Clarissa: And what about kidnapping me from a building more than 100 stories high? I swear I have bruises. I could’ve died. (overdramatically)

Dark: No! I was very careful. I wore soft gloves and I… Oh, you’re quite the smart ass aren’t you? Trying to throw me of course. With your subtle nature! But no more. Let’s get down to business.

Clarissa: Well, I do like business. Do go on.

Dark: How did you manage to make such a business as the SCMC?

Clarissa: Hard work, dedication, a good amount of organization.

I laugh.

Dark: Organization, by the looks of your room you don’t know the first thing about it.

Clarissa: You don’t always have to have a place for everything as long as you know where everything is.

Dark: Right, so where’s the pistol in your office again?

Clarissa: Which one?

Dark: Clever girl.

Clarissa: Clever boy.

Clarissa rolls her eyes.

I let out a sinister laugh.

Dark: I’ve been reading up on your autobiography. Is it true that you speak in a British accent, but have never actually been to Britain?

Clarissa glows red.

Clarissa: HEY! I happen to like the way the language sounds. Okay?

Dark: I agree. It helps you sound less nasal.

Clarissa scoffs.

Clarissa: I don’t sound nasal, with or without the accent.

Dark: Book repeat last 7 seconds of dialogue.

Book: *Clarissa scoffs* I don’t sound nasal, with or without the accent.

Clarissa: My god. Your book can change the sound of voices too?

I look at Cha and raise an eyebrow.

Dark: Of course it does. (long pause) So Clarissa, what were you drinking when you first met Necross?

Clarissa: Soul glow of course! One of the most popular drinks in the Undrworld.

Dark: You mean that brown muck Souls call a drink *uck* no wonder I didn’t add that in.

Clarissa: Add that in to what?

Dark: Never you mind. Anyway, tell me. How did you allow yourself the ability to fall asleep writing.

Clarissa: What do you mean? Allow? And you’re complaining about my accent. In fact, I’ve never heard an accent quite like yours before.

Dark: One of a kind. I assure you. Now on with the question.

Clarissa If I answer this one, will you finally let me leave? The people at the company have been looking for me for over a week.

Dark: Make it two and you’ve got yourself a deal bun bun.

Clarissa: Bun bun? Weird. (takes a short pause) Well, I’m just a hard worker I suppose, and it’s natural instinct.

Dark: Ah, yes, how does it feel to be the last one?

Clarissa glares at me for a long time without saying anything.

Dark: Fine, if you won’t give me that, then, at least tell me this. How do you feel about Necross Cross?

Clarissa looks down at the ground and then back to me.

Clarissa: He’s growing by the day. His eyes reflect what’s come before. They won’t let me down or anyone for that matter.

I let out half a smile from the left corner of my mouth.

Dark: Very well Ms. Jenova. You’ve answered me honestly and I’d say this has been a very informative session.

I walk over to her and flatten out the part part of her hair.

Dark: However, I think you give the boy too much faith. He will have to fail, to grow.

Clarissa: Part part huh? Sorry I was looking at your book. But yes, he’ll have to fail to grow, but when it matters he’ll come through.

Dark: I hope you’re right Clarissa, because something IS coming. I can’t tell you what and it won’t matter because you’re about to forget all this.

Clarissa: Forget? Well, I must say it was nice meeting the famous Dark. R. Reaper in person.

Dark: As it was for me to meet the Famous Founder of Soul Silk.

I walk behind her grabbing Cha from off the side of the wall

Dark: Now, just throw essence of the wall.

I touch the back of her head and she loses consciousness. One interview done. A lot to go. I mark Clarissa off my checklist pick her up and carry her over my shoulder out the door.
